This policy covers the EngineMiles iPhone app and enginemiles.com, operated by TooAvid Technologies LLC. It describes the current app, including its private beta.

Your vehicle log

Vehicles, fill-ups, odometer readings, fuel amounts, prices, station names, notes, oil-change records, and app settings are stored on your device. EngineMiles does not upload this vehicle log to an EngineMiles account or server. The app does not automatically track your location or trips.

Widgets use a local copy of the information they display. Notifications use the permissions and reminder settings you choose on your device.

Purchases

Apple processes in-app payments and manages subscriptions. EngineMiles uses RevenueCat to validate and manage purchase access and understand purchase activity. Purchase processing can include an anonymous app-user identifier, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, purchase timestamps, and technical information such as app and device information or network address. This purchase processing is separate from optional app-usage sharing.

EngineMiles does not receive your payment-card details. See Apple’s privacy information and RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

Optional app-usage sharing

“Share app usage” is on by default for new installs. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy; an existing off choice is preserved. While it is on, EngineMiles uses PostHog to understand screen and feature activity, onboarding, imports and exports, errors, and purchase flows.

Usage events can include an anonymous identifier, app/device information, locale, the screen or action, a coarse entry-count range, vehicle type, and the outcome of an action. They exclude vehicle names, station names, notes, odometer readings, fuel amounts, prices, log contents, and record identifiers. The app does not enable session replay or automatic capture of text you enter.

When usage sharing is enabled, purchase events may be connected to the same analytics identifier through RevenueCat. Turning sharing off stops new app-usage events. The app also updates its analytics preference with RevenueCat; that update can be delayed while offline. RevenueCat may send purchase notifications to the analytics service for processing, where usage-preference checks control whether those purchase events are retained. Previously collected information is not automatically deleted by turning the setting off.

For questions about information already collected, contact us. See PostHog’s privacy policy.

Backups, exports, and deletion

Device or iCloud backups may include app data, depending on your Apple settings. Those backups are managed by Apple. CSV and backup exports go where you choose to save or share them.

You can edit or delete records in the app. Removing the app removes its local data from the device, subject to Apple’s backup behavior. Keep an export or backup if you want to retain your history.

Email and support

If you email us, we receive your email address and the message or attachments you send. We use that information to respond to your question, feature request, or support issue. Do not send sensitive information you don’t want to share.

Retention and privacy requests

Your local vehicle log stays on your device until you delete records, remove the app, or replace its data with a backup. Apple manages the retention of device backups and payment records.

Purchase records are retained as needed to provide and restore Pro access, handle subscriptions and refunds, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations. Deleting an analytics record does not cancel a subscription or remove Apple’s transaction history.

Optional usage information remains in PostHog until it is deleted. PostHog’s plan controls the period available for analytics queries; that query window is not a promise of automatic deletion. We use PostHog’s deletion tools to handle verified deletion requests. We do not enable session recordings. We retain support messages while needed to resolve the request and related follow-up or legal obligations.

To request access or deletion, open Settings → Privacy → Request data access or deletion in the app, or email us. The app prepares an email with anonymous purchase and usage reference IDs so we can locate associated records; it does not attach your vehicle log. You review and send the email yourself. Turning usage sharing off stops new app-usage events but does not erase earlier events. Some purchase information may need to remain, and restoring or making a purchase can create a new purchase record.
